Children crave…
Children crave a sense of belonging and want to positively identify with a community.
When we gather with our children and facilitate The M.Y. Time Program we tell them many things.
Our time together is important.
We want to spend time with them.
We want to get to know them better and they are valued.
A local superintendent wrote an article recently highlighting the importance of children's lower level needs (Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs) being foundational to higher level needs (Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives). In other words, a sense of safety and belonging need to precede skills such as knowledge, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
We need mindfulness, mindful movement and yoga as a tool to support the development of our children. Come train with us and learn more about meeting the basic needs of children through the implementation of The M.Y. Time Program.
